Prateek is an Odissi musician (vocalist & Binākāra), archivist & researcher. He is a student of Odissi music and Bina (Veena) under Guru Brundabana Khandual and subsequently Guru Ramarao Patro, in the lineage of early 20th-century maestro Astabadhani Acharya Tarini Charan Patra. His research primarily consists of digitally documenting endangered traditional artforms of Odisha, rare Odissi music compositions, ragas, manuscripts and more. This website is a means of disseminating much of what has already been collected, and to increase the visibility as well as accessibility of knowledge that has otherwise remained relatively unutilized. He has collaborated with several eminent scholars in cultural studies, and his meticulous documentation projects have earned praise from various quarters, including the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik. He is the author of ‘Odissi Sangita Baridhi’ alongside his Guru, Pt. Ramarao Patro, a book consisting of over 600 pages of notations documenting the traditional Odissi compositions taught by Acharya Tarini Charan Patra. This site has been conceptualized and designed by Prateek.
